Sisters Izzy and Cleo come home to attend the funeral of their grandfather, a once infamous cultbuster, only to discover that part of their family are still active Moonie cult members. When their Moonie cousin and her husband show up after the funeral, questions of Jewish family and faith are dangerously put to the test.  BLOOD MOON, a new dark comedy, explores the aftermath of 70's cults, in the face of ritualistic sex,  a Fleetwood Mac t-shirt, and a Hank Greenberg baseball bat.

LILA FEINBERG is a playwright, actress, and recent recipient of an MFA in Dramatic Writing from Columbia University. Her play VERTEBRAE was the winner of Araca Group's 2012 National Graduate Playwriting Award, and had a workshop production at New York Theatre Workshop and a staged reading at Ars Nova (dir by Kip Fagan). This past winter, she was the inaugural recipient of the Clifford Odets Ensemble Play Commission; her new play LOVE LAB was directed by Gaye Taylor Upchurch at NYU Tisch. While still in grad school, her commissioned play NIGHT FLOAT premiered alongside Craig Lucas' The Catherine Wheel at Playwrights Horizon, and Gregory Mosher's Arts Initiative produced a workshop of MONKEY BOWL at MTC. An excerpt from her commissioned play PERCHED (workshop at Cherry Lane) was published in the anthology What We Brought Back (Nextbook). 

At Columbia, Lila was the recipient of the Gatsby Charitable Fund Grant, the Interdisciplinary Arts Council Grant, and the Barnard Alumnae Fellowship. She was mentored in playwriting by Craig Lucas, Joe Kraemer, and Julia Jordan; studied screenwriting and adaptation with Guy Gallo; and TV writing with Frank Pugliese and Jacquelyn Reingold.

Currently, she is developing an original TV pilot about an Rx drug ring run by medical residents, and collaborating on a pilot about a psych ward with New York Times writer Daphne Merkin. She is also writing a film with a Columbia MFA film director, which will premiere at Lincoln Center next spring. 

When she's not writing dialogue, Lila has lived many lives. As an actress, she had a lot of chairs thrown at her in the Moscow Art Theatre, and Vaclav Havel once personally told her she was the "best one-legged whore" in The Beggar's Opera he'd ever seen. She has been the writing and research assistant to both a Nobel Prize Winner in Medicine and a Pulitzer Prize Winner in Poetry. Lila was also the contributing writer of a wildly popular YA novel published by Random House in 2010. 

Lila is a summa cum laude and phi beta kappa graduate of Barnard College.
