Detroit, 1967. In the gleaming lobby of the Lafayette Towers, the Supremes are fighting, a young housewife is pining for something new, and Reena Walker - an aspiring Motown singer - is locked out of her apartment in a peignoir set paid for by a married man. Can a new relationship be forged atop this powderkeg of a city?  

Brooke Berman (Playwright) is an award-winning playwright, screenwriter, and memoirist whose work has been produced and developed at: Primary Stages, The Second Stage, Steppenwolf, The Play Company, Soho Rep, Williamstown Theater Festival, Naked Angels, MCC, WET, SPF, New Dramatists, New Georges, Bay Area Playwrights and the O’Neill.  In the UK, her work has been developed at The Royal Court Theatre, The National Theatre Studio and Pentabus.  Plays include: Hunting and Gathering (Primary Stages); Smashing (The Play Company, The O’Neill); Until We Find Each Other (Steppenwolf, The O’Neill); The Triple Happiness (Second Stage), Sam and Lucy (SPF, Cleveland Playhouse), A Perfect Couple (WET), Out of the Water (Cape Cod Theater Project, ARS Nova), Casual Encounters (New Dramatists Creativity Fund) and others. Awards include: Berilla Kerr Award, Helen Merrill Award, two Francesca Primus Awards, two LeCompte du Nuoy awards and a commissioning grant from the National Foundation for Jewish Culture.  She was a resident playwright at New Dramatists, where she served on the Board of Directors and developed countless plays. Brooke’s short film “All Saints Day”, directed by Will Frears, won Best Narrative Short at the Savannah Film Festival and played at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2008. Brooke attended Barnard College and is a proud graduate of The Juilliard School. She is a member of the Dramatists Guild, PEN and the MCC Playwrights Coalition. 

Daniella Topol's (Director) Off-Broadway credits include: Catherine Treischmann's How The Wold Began (Women's Project & South Coast Rep), Lloyd Suh's Jesus in India (Ma-Yi Theatre & Magic Theatre), Judith Thompson's Palace of the End (Epic Theatre), Sheila Callaghan's Lascivious Something (Women's Project/Cherry Lane), Trista Baldwin's Sand (Women's Project), Sheila Callaghan's Dead City (NewGeorges).  World premieres around the country include: Rajiv Joseph's Monster at the Door (Alley Theatre), Willy Holtzman's The Morini Strand (City Theatre, PA), Stefanie Zadravec's Electric Baby (Quantum Theatre), Ari Roth's Andy and the Shadows (Theatre J, DC),  Niko Tsakalakos and Janet Allard's Pool Boy (Barrington Stage). Daniella has served as the Artistic Program Director of the Lark Play Development Center, New Works Program Director of the National Alliance for Musical Theatre, and Associate Producing Director of City Theatre.
