When the women of The Hebrew Ladies Burial Society gather to lay out one of their own for a traditional Jewish funeral, the Queen Bee of the synagogue sisterhood squares off against the new Rabbi's wife. As they go through the sacred ritual it soon becomes clear that this small southern town has its own secrets, and there may be more than just a corpse that needs to be buried.

C. P. Englander has been weaving stories for most of her life in a variety of genres and forms. Her short stories “Reb Yosef’s Gift” and “Down the Chimney,” were respectively the winner and runner-up for CAJE’s Dornan Short Story Award. Her screenplay, “The Would-be Witch” written under her R. Boucher pseudonym, won a trip to Hollywood and pitch appointments to major studios when it took third prize among over 2000 submitted scripts in Final Draft’s Big Break Contest. Her current work in progress, “The Holocaust Tourists” is about a Holocaust Survivor with Alzheimer’s disease. It received a staged reading from director Barry Feinstien’s Theatrical Mining Company and was workshopped at Baltimore’s Fells Point Corner Theatre. She is currently working on a screenplay version. A graduate of Brooklyn College with a degree in English Literature, she has also used her keen liberal arts skills to build a successful business and raise four children . She enjoys acting as part of Baltimore’s Jewish Theatre Workshop and believes that actually being onstage and working with the production process provides valuable insight into creating plays that small companies can more easily produce.
